Copywriter & Community Manager

Who are we? We’re Brilliant Social Media, a digital agency with a difference. We’re quickly becoming the go-to social media agency for food and drink brands in the U.K. because we love what we do, and we do it… well, brilliantly.

Let’s get this straight, this role won’t be simply sending out a few tweets. You’ll be brainstorming ideas for campaigns, writing and publishing creative and engaging content across a range of platforms, planning content calendars, researching, finding photos that fit with your vision, forging relationships with clients, and so much more.

We’re looking for a skilled writer, with a strong attention to detail. Being clued up on social media is a bonus but not essential, but we expect you to be willing to learn if you’re not.

To be considered for the role you will need to be extremely self motivated, creative and able to demonstrate your ability to work under pressure whilst retaining a strong attention to detail. You must be able to follow systems and be able to produce high quality written content within set timescales.

You will also be responsible for ensuring the high quality of the creative output and ensuring clients’ expectations and the delivery of service targets are met.

Skills & Experience:

  • Creative copywriting, proof reading and strong attention to detail
  • A strong background in one of or a combination of the following areas: social media management, writing/journalism, digital marketing
  • Experienced in writing content for a wide variety of audiences.
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Ability to work on your own initiative to meet tight deadlines and targets
  • Ability to think conceptually and strategically
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Managing different social media channels, community management and social media monitoring

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Creative copywriting including social media posts, blogs and website copy
  • Sourcing imagery to compliment the copy
  • Community management and daily monitoring of interactions, ensuring responses are reflective of each client’s brand and tone of voice.
  • Creating research briefs and graphic design briefs
  • Publishing social media content on a range of platforms
  • Developing creative campaign ideas that drive engagement and meet each client’s strategic goals
  • Devising activity planners based on key dates, topics, conversations and potential sales opportunities in line with agreed client objectives, strategy and KPIs
  • Monitoring, proof reading and editing outgoing content for consistency and quality
  • Write copy in a range of styles and tone of voice to appeal to different target audiences
  • Attend client meetings and be able to articulate your ideas
  • Developing tone of voice and copy styles for a range of brands


Education – one or more of the following:

  • English A Level or GCSE B or above
  • Undergraduate in English Literature / English Language / Creative Writing / Journalism / Marketing / Media or similar  
  • Graduate with BA or BSc
